In the early 1900’s, Henrietta Leavitt begins work at the Harvard Observatory as one of the women ‘computers’ charting the cosmos. While measuring the light and distance of stars, Henrietta also takes measure of her own life, trying to balance scientific discovery with family obligations and the possibility of love. This true story of a trailblazing astronomer explores the passion and fortitude of females who defied social conventions and changed the way we understand both the heavens and the earth.
“A gorgeous, inspiring drama… Leavitt’s story unfolds with a beauty and complexity worthy of the skies she mapped.” – Chicago Sun Times
“A simple reminder of what a pleasant, thought-provoking evening at the theatre ought to look like. It’s a lively, funny, accessible play that’s alive with interesting ideas.” – Arts ATL
“Bottom line: Heavenly.” – Atlanta Journal Constitution
